"You Might Not Want To Watch This Video"
This past weekend was a small reminder that summer is right on the horizon! 🌞
The weather was absolutely gorgeous! I know I'm guilty of this, but strangers love to talk about the weather, especially in Illinois. You can never truly put away the opposite season's clothes because Mother Nature can go through a couple different moods all in one day!
On Friday night, when Waylin came home from Grandma's house, she brought one of her baby dolls with her. Ben said he couldn't pry it from her little fingers 💪. So, out it went with us on a little after-dinner stroller ride!
Up until recently, she didn't really have a strong attraction to dolls. She was more interested in cars and books. ❤ I'm really glad that MIL stuck with introducing her to baby dolls, because I think it helps teach Waylin to be gentle and caring, rather than playing MONSTER TRUCK SMASH! 🚚
Of course, we picked more dandelions!
Poor "Scoopy" was dragged around the whole yard! If you remember, I wrote about how we were gifted Scoopy in a prior post. I still feel very thankful for that memory! 💕
We worked on learning how to blow dandelion wishes.
She got it down after she almost ate some of the seeds on this attempt! 😆 It's funny because when we eventually came inside, I told Ben we were practicing blowing dandelions, and he gave me a look of disgust and said, "Make sure she doesn't eat them!" And I just started laughing and said, "...you might not want to watch this video then." 🤣🤣🤣
Since we live out in the country and on a lake, there are quite a few pests we have to deal with. Last year, we woke up to find that a woodpecker had started enjoying our front door. And there's always mice in the fields!
Ben bought a couple of decoys to try to help with those problems. This is Owen (aka Owey) that protects the back of the house! 🦉
Waylin loves to point at him from inside, so we decided to finally let the two of them meet! She was so happy and gave Owey a hug all on her own accord! 😍
We continued exploring the backyard where Waylin found some pine cones that were from Grandma and Grandpa's house.
When I took this picture, I said, "Waylin. Do something funny! Be a funny girl!"
And she put the pine cone on her head! 😆
Silly girl! I love it! ❤❤❤
I can't say it enough! I just love how much her little heart enjoys being outside! I wouldn't be surprise if she's going to grow up to be a mix of Steve Irwin (#RIP) and Bear Grylls!
