The Missing Pieces of 2017
This house is responsible for robbing Benjamin and I of the second half of 2017. We bought this house on July 20th, 2017, and it has been deemed a "nightmare house." Anything and everything that could go wrong with this house has gone wrong. What we thought would be a couple of days of couch surfing turned into 6 months. I spent my entire pregnancy sleeping on a couch. The first two trimesters were because Daddy thought Mummy snored too loud! And, I probably did! Once we realized that we were fastly approaching my due date, I decided to move in with my in-laws (Grandma and Grandpa Bohlen).
These two views are what really suckered us in when we bought the house. This house appeared to have the best of both worlds: a lakehouse out in the country. Your dad and I had many dreams of what our life would be like living here with you! We thought about all the great memories we would have on the water, riding dirt bikes, etc. Even though we knew some of the problems with the house, those dreams are what led us to purchase this house.
We have only been able to call this place home for a week now (as of 1/12/18). It took us A LOT to get to this point, and we are still renovating while living there. Your dad and Grandpa Bohlen have spent almost every single day since July working on this house. They are tired, but they keep going for you! I did my best to do what I could, but being pregnant made it hard to be able to help them.
I'll post more on the renovations with their own individual post, because there are a lot of details that we want to record. Your dad is THE SMARTEST MAN IN THE WORLD. He will shake his head once he reads that, because he doubts himself too much. But, your dad thought of every little detail when working on our house.
One example is Mummy and Daddy's bathroom. At the moment, it is still being worked on. But, your dad showed me a couple weeks ago that he rewired the electricity to hook up the lights and the exhaust fan. He placed the light switch for the exhaust fan all the way at the end of the switch so it would be closest to the shower in case Mummy forgets to turn it on when she takes a shower! See! I told you your dad is a genius, as well as a well thoughtful man!
I wrote this Facebook post about your dad and I thought you would like to read it!
Your dad wanted everything about this house to be perfect just for you!
FAST FORWARD TO THE BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES: YOU!
