Some Bunny Loves You

Some Bunny Loves You

I realized as Easter got closer that I don't know all of the words to "Little Bunny Foo Foo" (or even if that's how you spell "foo foo").  😂  So I had to improvise.  This is what I came up with:  Little bunny foo foo hopping through the forest. I can’t remember the chorrrrrrrus. I hope he made it through the trees without any fleas! 🤷‍♀️ It sounds legit to me!

When Waylin was a baby, I learned that I really don't know very many nursery rhymes.  I turned "Baa Baa Black Sheep" into Elvis' Blue Suede Shoes...hey, try it!  It actually works!  And some of the nursery rhymes are kind of violent!  I remember reading a book of rhymes to Way when she was little and we came across the Old Mother Hubbard one.  In mid-sentence, I told Waylin, "Ohhhhh no!  We don't starve dogs or any other animals.  If they need food, we go to the store and buy some." 🐶 #teachablemoments 😂

Easter weekend was a little bit stressful on me.  Ben was under the weather, so I was solo parenting.  I do a lot with Waylin on my own anyway, but it was more work than I thought going to see the Easter bunny.  😅

Last year, we went to Dallas & Company in an effort to avoid the "mall bunny."  Did you shudder when you read "mall bunny"?  Did you instantly hear the screams and tears of children?  Did you taste the bitterness of paying $37 for 1 photo of your child crying in the arms of a furry creature? 😂 Small town bunnies and "off the beaten path" bunnies are the way to go!  Free, Cheap, and usually short lines!

We were laughing so hard when we looked at these pictures, especially side by side! It almost looks like her neck snapped lol.

This year, we went to Strictly Kids Resale Shop in Gibson City, Illinois.  They had a professional photographer there, balloons, face painting, and an ice cream truck!

Waylin and I were surprised by how many people were stuffed into the store!  Trying to walk between racks of toys/clothing and a million people with a big diaper bag is truly a workout!

She wore a denim bunny dress with pink tights and her hair up in a little pony! 🐎

I'd probably have to say one of the harder things of solo parenting besides holding ALL.DA.THINGS is waiting in a long line.  It is so hard to entertain a 1.5 year old when she's mobile.  Grocery store lines are the worst! 🛒

She wanted to roam around the store while we were waiting in line.  She threw her body on the floor and started crying because I wouldn't let her go play with a rack full of toys (so you can see what I was working against...the odds were not in my favor).  This is officially our first public tantrum and I handled it by myself!  👏

I pulled out Buster, her new monster truck school bus toy to try to ease the situation.  That toy is pretty dang cool.

I sang my version of "Little Bunny Foo Foo" over and over in front of strangers trying to pick her up off the floor. She stopped crying once we were walking up to the Easter bunny. I could tell the photographer was bracing herself to take yet another "baby crying with a bunny" picture. But, this is the picture we ended up with:

You can tell her eyes are red from crying, but is that not the most content smile you've ever seen?  It's kind of funny that crying ensued BEFORE sitting on the bunny's lap.

I actually really love that Buster made it into the picture (and the white balloon).  It perfectly portrays her personality:  so sweet and tough.  💕🐰

I'll leave this post with two bunny pictures that are absolutely EAR-resistable!

I hope she loves the Easter bunny next year! 🐰
