Jump around, jump up, and get down!
Aw man. If you didn’t hear that record screech noise when you read the title of this blog post, something is missing from your life. You need to go to YouTube and listen to House of Pain’s “Jump Around.”
For her birthday, I took the day off to spend it completely with her. Ben had to work, so it was just a girls day! We decided to go checkout Elevate, a local trampoline park in Champaign.
I came to get down
So get out your seat and jump around!
She was so excited for the Trampoline Park! I don’t think she even really knew what it was, but man! She was so happy! Elevate has a “5 and Under” area, so we started there first. It was huge and we were the only people there for a good 30 minutes, so it was nice to introduce her to foam pits and slides without the rush of other kids.
The whole time I was there, I kept thinking about how Ben would probably not approve of our little adventure lol. I could hear him complaining about how dirty foam pits probably are, and how she could hurt herself. After I sent him the next video, those were his exact responses! 🤣 What can I say? I know my husband. I had to remind him that it is her birthday and she is having fun. She can’t live in a bubble…* pop *
We went down the HUGE slide together ONLY ONCE…she was hooked and didn’t need me anymore! I love how she immediately told me she liked it and she stood up with a smile and static-filled pigtails!
LOL, I have watched that video so many times! I swear, she went down that slide at least 40 times. She even got brave to run throughout the whole building where all the other crazy kids were. Elevate took over an old YMCA building, so it’s absolutely HUGE and there are so many places to explore!
I had to bribe her with muffins to come sit down and have a drink! Look at how flushed her little cheekies are! She was literally like, “Mom, when can we go back out?” I knew at that point that we were going to be there for at least another hour.
She was obsessed with trying everything out! She even made a couple of friends that she played with. Of course, they were older boys! 😏 One day, her teacher at daycare told me that she was cuddling with a boy in a corner and they were singing Old MacDonald together, but broke up when the cameras came out! #ohlordweareintrouble
So, I had to be THAT MOM when it was time to go. I had to chase her, strong arm her on my hip like I just wrastled an alligator and leave the facility while she screamed and cried. Ughhh. I didn’t want to do that, but it was the only way to get her out of there. I’m sure I am not the only mom that has had to do that, but it sure felt like I was. 😥 When I told Ben what I had to do, he said he was surprised no one thought I was abducting a child. 🤣 I mean, I kind of was lololol.
The minute we got some fresh Fall air outside the building, she was back to happy. Good, I was starting to think I was a monster. 👾
I stopped by the Cake Artist Studio to pick up cupcakes for a little something for dinner. Last year, we did the same thing. They have a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake that is really good! Her face tells the rest of that story! 🎂
For her birthday, we ended up getting her a tricycle! Ben found a really neat Schwinn tricycle that even had tassle handlebars and an old school bell! She’s a little too young to learn how to pedal yet. We have been practicing at Farm n Fleet on their Radio Flyers, so I think she’ll pick it up fast!
When is she ever not cool? I’m sure when winter clears up, she will be ready to pedal this bad boy down the road with no problem! I love how the back has a little ledge for her to carry her animals/toys.
I think she had a great birthday and I just cannot believe I have a two year old now! 😱
