Hoppy Easter
Our Easter morning started with the surprise that the Easter bunny had visited our house! 🐇
MOOD CHANGE COMMENCING IN 3...2...1.
I love how she was juuust on the verge of whimpering and then she saw her Easter basket...😂 This girl LOVES her breakfast. So I think she thought we were headed to the kitchen for blueberries and waffles (NOT to be confused with blueberry waffles...she likes them separate!)
We moved on to the hunt after she got her waffle fix (#addict). Ben wasn't feeling well, but he did get to come outside to watch the cuteness that ensued! The Easter bunny didn't think things through though....he left eggs all over the part of the yard where the septic tank went in last year 💩 #weird It must have been because I forgot to mow the yard for 5 days in a row! Whoops! 🤦♀️
The Easter bunny left gold coins, scrunchies, and new socks!
She did great picking up all of the Easter eggs! She's had a lotttttttt of practice at Grandma's house over the past two weeks. I'd say she was quite the professional.
I hope my in-laws love me, because I totally coerced them into having an Easter day lunch at their house! 😘 We kept it simple and it was a beautiful day!
We were even able to sit outside to eat! We had hot dogs and ribeyes on the grill thanks to FIL and Dom!
You might recognize that she is wearing the same denim overall bunny dress that she wore to see the Easter bunny the day before. It was too adorable to not wear again!
We also decided to have another egg hunt at my in-laws. Lindsay, the BEST sister-in-law ever, stuffed a TON of eggs! She even had ones specifically for Waylin! ❤
We also brought some, so there was A LOT of eggs for only two kids doing the hunt! I bet there was at least 100 eggs spread out in the field!
P.S. I hope we got them all!
We didn't think things through though. We hid all the eggs while we waiting for Joey, Gunner's girlfriend Krista's son, to come over. Sounds like a good idea, right? Well, the sun was beaming down and MOST of those eggs were filled with chocolate. So, a large amount of the eggs enjoyed a little sauna before Joey got there. Oh well, imperfect chocolate is still perfect chocolate! 🍫
Waylin does the most adorable thing ever when you ask her where the Easter bunny went. She throws her hands up and says, "Owh?"
We always enjoy spending time at the in-laws. They have about 20 acres of land out in the country, so there's a lot to explore! They also have chickens! 🐔 Actually, every morning when I drop her off at MIL's house, she points to the chickens as soon as I pull her out of her car seat!
Poor girl! All she wants is to play with the chickens, but they don't come around for anything other than food. I don't blame them!
This picture makes me happy! I am so glad I was able to snap this adorable moment between FIL and Way. Way has spent a lot of her days swinging on the front porch with MIL ever since she was a baby! That's where she has learned to look out for the "bad buggies" 🐜🐛🐝 #whydidGodcreatewasps?
We spent the majority of the day outside playing and spending time as a family. The Easter bunny actually left her several baskets over the weekend at SIL and MIL's house! That bunny was definitely loving on her this year! 💕
In hindsight, this Easter was a memorable one! We had so much fun together! One of the best parts of motherhood is seeing your child absolutely light up with joy, especially on holidays!
Waylin didn't get a nap, so she started getting really tired around 4 PM. We decided to head home to see Daddy. MIL sent us on our way with an Easter basket. Since she was kinda cranky, I let her have the basket while we drove home.
THIS! This is how I found her when I opened the door in our driveway!
🤣 SO. MUCH. EASTER. GRASS. 🤣
I was laughing so hard! She was passed out and still clutching handfuls of Easter grass in her hands! NEVER AGAIN, though. It took me FOREVER to clean up all of that grass. It went everywhere! It gets into the tiniest nooks and crannies of my old 2001 Toyota. In fact, I'm still finding little "blades of green" nearly two weeks later!
Hoppy Easter, ya'll! 💕
