School of Rock
I grew up listening to a lot of rock music which Ben tells me is one of the things that attracted him to me. I personally think my blonde hair and Trans Am sealed the deal though lol. We both like rock music and all the music that has evolved from that genre.
Ben and I both remember one of our earliest memories of hanging out together. We had gone over to one of his friend’s houses and it was kind of lame. We decided to leave and said our goodbyes. Ben always drove everywhere we went, I always loved that about him. I hopped up in the truck that was parked in his friend’s driveway and we waited for it to warm up a little bit. He put in Kid Rock’s “Cocky” album while we waited. There’s a song on that album called “Drunk in the Morning".” We sat in that driveway for over FIVE hours listening to the same song, talking, and kissing each others LIPS OFF to this song! 😂
Ben is very conscious of what music he plays around Waylin, because he worries if we play rap music, she will end up liking it. 🤣 One of his * approved * music choices around her is Kid Rock!

Waylin loves it when we “air play” music on the big TV. She loves to dance for us, and she is a total rocker babe herself. After dinner, we decided to listen to some Kid Rock and Waylin loved it! She was moshing around the living room after a long day of quarantined play, so please don’t mind the mess!
I sent the video to Kid Rock and his girlfriend! I’ll let you know when he wants to collab with Waylin on a song. 🤘

She often likes to mosh around the living room and isn’t afraid to mosh all by herself! 🤘 Next week, we will be practicing crowd surfing! 🏄♀️
I really think Waylin has a genuine interest in music. It will be fun to see how that evolves as she grows up.
I fully support giving Waylin opportunities to explore anything she is interested in. I think that’s what makes us interesting people when we grow up. There is no such thing as a waste of money when it comes to letting your kids explore their interests. I know my mum paid for many things that I no longer have interest in: learning how to speak French, origami, basketball, making dog treats, collecting stamps and foreign money, etc. I never understood why my mum wasn’t upset when I no longer wanted to pursue those ideas or passions. But I do now that I am a mother myself. You will always do anything to see your child smile and be happy.
Ben has been throwing around the idea of getting a karaoke machine for two reasons:
He thinks Waylin will love hearing her voice over the loud speakers and it may encourage her to keep talking more and working on her speech.
He wants to hear me sing! THIS MAN THINKS I CAN SING…I cannot. This has already been confirmed by so many people. I. CANNOT. SING.
I am sure she will be singing with as much passion as she is showing here! 🎤
Aunt Lindsay has been making Waylin t-shirts left and right and they are all amazing! She can make anything and everything! Waylin really likes her shirts and likes to shake her booty with the fringe! She looks so cute in these rocker tees and she looks like her daddy!
In this picture, she is actually wearing Lindsay’s old cowboy boots too! She loves stomping around the house in them, making sure eeeeeeveryone knows she’s around! 🤣
I am sure this quarantine is going to be filled with lots of singing, dancing, and ROCK! 🤘
