PLEASE MOVE YOUR TASSEL FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER
Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, we come together to celebrate a remarkable milestone in Waylin’s life. This ceremony signifies the conclusion of an extraordinary journey through kindergarten and the beginning of an exciting new chapter. This past year, Waylin has grown immensely, showing curiosity and an enthusiasm for learning. She won the "Grit and Grace Award," a testament to her kind spirit. She lost two teeth, learned all her letters, can identify sight words by starting to read, and can now count to one hundred.
Each day brought new adventures, including making lots of new friends and riding the bus to school for the first time. As we look forward, we envision a path filled with new discoveries, challenges, and triumphs. The skills and knowledge gained in kindergarten will serve as a strong foundation for all the adventures that lie ahead.
To our proud graduate, please move your tassel from one side to the other. This simple act signifies your transition to the next stage of your educational journey. We are incredibly proud of you, and we look forward to seeing all the amazing things you will accomplish as part of the graduating class of 2036.
Congratulations, and may your future be as bright and promising as your smile today!
Now, I’m a person that considers myself to have a lot of ideas. I’ve always been like that, even as a kid. I use my imagination, I guess. As an extroverted introvert, I do a lot of thinking. And when I realized that the school was not going to have a ceremony for the Kindergarteners, I knew I had to do something.
I told Ben we were going to host our own! Now, I don’t share a lot of my ideas with him because he doesn’t seem to crazy about most of them, but I walked up to my husband and confidently told him this was happening. I knew he would think it was silly, but I didn’t care. This was important to me, and that should matter.
I repurposed some decorations I had available in my stockpile and POOF! We had a real graduation on our hands! I stayed up late making a pavlova to share with family and wrote the commencement speech that I gave as she walked down the aisle to accept a faux certificate! I even played a real instrumental graduation song as she did!
To my surprise, family came and brought her a gift! I hadn’t thought about that aspect at all, and didn’t expect anyone to do such a thing. It was such a nice party!
I may be or not be a lot of things, but I do know I am a mom that loves and cares!
