Totally Wiggin' Out, Man!

Totally Wiggin' Out, Man!

Wig 3.jpg

I can't even begin to tell you how much laughter we had on Sunday.  If it weren't for the 3 steak tacos that I demolished, I may have developed a 6-pack of abs from all that laughing!  Let's start with what we did on Friday:  NOT MUCH!  We were both pretty drained from the work week!  When I got home, Ben was finishing up with the deck (see below).

reeeeally didn't want to cook dinner.  I was exhausted from a long day at work, and I just wanted to go out to eat somewhere.  I know I'm not the only girl in the world that is passive-aggressive about going out to eat!  Am I?  I don't like to SAY that I want to go out to eat though.  I want someone else to suggest it, and then I'll tell them it's a great idea and we live happily ever after!  :)  I made a Snapchat video about these desires...check it out:

In the end, I made fiesta ranch chicken, sweet potatoes with red onions, and some cauliflower.  It was good, but I definitely didn't want to cook the entire time I was making it!  But I did it!  :) *pats self on the back*

Saturday morning, I had a hair appointment at Fuad's where I believe I've found the best stylist ever (Michael Steen).  I've been going to him for a couple years now, and will never go anywhere else!

I left the salon feeling    IN LOVE with my new color!

When I got home, Ben told me to go grab a paint brush and get to work... #totalslavedriver! We have been trying to renovate the outside of our home, because we may put it on the market within the year. We finished staining/sealing our wood fence on our property. I have to give MAJOR props to Ben because he did probably 90% of the work.

Since that, we started to freshen up the paint on the foundation of the house, which is brick.  I completed the whole right side of the house by myself!  We haven't had too great of weather lately to finish the other sides though. That's the trouble with starting these projects so late in the Fall, but we're trying!  We also knew we had to do something with our front porch/deck/stairs/whatever you want to call it.  The paint was peeling off, and it just looked really bad from the street.  Here's a picture of it when I started scrapping the paint off earlier this week:

As you can see, it definitely needed some work!  The problem was that we needed to get all of the paint off, and it wasn't easy! So, we decided to rebuild some portions of the porch and flip some boards over.

Ben and I tore into the porch earlier this week...well, he did...I supervised!  You can see how INVOLVED my supervision was in the pictures below.  I stayed in the house behind the glass door and watched him work!  Literally, watching him work is something I like to do!  He is just so handsome!

Anyways, he was worried he wasn't going to remember how it was built! But, he did a fantastic job and he didn't even look at this picture that I took as a reference!

We bought some porch paint to match our newly stained/sealed fence.  We finished one coat of paint on Saturday.  Once we get to finish the second coat, I'll post a picture!  :)

After all that hard work, I wanted to take Ben out for dinner.  We tried to get into the German restaurant again, but they are booked solid for Oktoberfest!  We ended up going to Texas Road House, even though we ate there last weekend with his brother and his girlfriend!  :)  It was a MADHOUSE there!  I even did "Call Ahead" seating and we had to wait for probably 30 minutes.  I always order my steak "Medium Well." When we got our food, my steak was RARE as hell.  I'm never someone to complain at a restaurant.  I know things can go wrong, and I've worked in the service industry before.  We ended up having my meal comped, but I was still VERY hungry.

Before we left TRH, we ran into Pat and his girlfriend.  We asked them if they wanted to join us for a drink after they ate.  In the meantime, Ben and I went to one of our old staples for drinking:  The Office II.  This place is probably the definition of "hole in the wall", but we spent a lot of nights drinking here when we were in our "dating phase."  I was able to get an order of mozzarella bites to make me happy.  We left there and met them at the Icehouse.  The Cubs game was on, and they ended up winning, so we got free shots from the owner (TWICE during the night!) Hah!

We left there and hit up Pias and Pipa's Pub (the old Diggers)...we drank WAY WAY too much! Everytime this happens, we tell ourselves: "I'm never drinking again!" and then another weekend rolls around! #endlesscycle! Nah, we don't really go out drinking that often, but when we do, we always regret it!

Needless to say, the next morning, we felt like death and needed tacos in our life.  It's so hard to find good tacos in the Champaign area. We usually end up drving 50 minutes away to Little Mexico in Mattoon, IL.  The place has good salsa (the kind that makes your breath stink for days) and juicy steak tacos in a cute atmosphere.

So once we ate EVERYTHING IN SIGHT, that's when the FUN started!  We had MAJOR food babies from all that taco-y goodness, so we decided to stop into Big Lots to chill in their recliners...Don't act like you've never taken a moment to just relax on a department store's furniture. #comeonnow

We bought some Halloween wigs at the local Walmart and tried everything on in the car. Surprisingly, Ben looked ridiculously good in a long haired hippie wig! So good, that we ended up going back inside Walmart and bought another one so we could match! #relationshipgoalsright

You can see our Snapchat story below too! We left our wigs on and ordered ice cream at a drive through...the lady told us that we were "totally groovy." The best part was seeing Ben's ice cream end up in his beard! LOL! We ended our night by lazying around with our pup, and starting a new series (Fear the Walking Dead).

What a weekend with my dude! Totally duuuuude...❤

I'm going to eat your eyeballs...
