Can we just take a moment to pause and reflect on how INCREDIBLY HANDSOME my husband is?

REMINDER:  Don't start a blog post bragging about how sexy your husband is....you will have extreme difficulty navigating your way back into actually writing your post!

Well, we started our Sunday morning by eating at our FAVORITE breakfast joint, The Main Street Pub in Monticello, Illinois.  It's nothing fancy, but we've spent countless breakfasts here where we discussed "when we get married' and "when we have kids" etc.  So, the place is very close to our hearts! And, it was the perfect place to cure a bad hangover from all the drinking we used to do on the weekends! :)

Two of Ben's friends joined us (Pat and Andy = brothers who fight...a lot!).  When we got back from breakfast, we loaded everything up in my truck to go fishing.  It was probably the hottest day of the year (at least it felt like it)!  I kept hooking into Asian Carp (which are fish you don't want), so between the heat and not catching anything, I was done.  I spent my time admiring my husband as he fished.

The boys ended up catching quite a lot!  It was mainly Gar, Striper, and 1 Walleye.  I'm still waiting for the day we get a whole bunch of Blue Gill and Crappie.  TASTY!

Ben and I walked the railroad tracks on a bridge to get back to my truck when it was time to go.  We heard a train honking, and it scared us, so we tried to run as fast as we can!  That's pretty difficult carrying a bunch of fish, your fishing pole, bag of water, and...me STUPIDLY wearing flip flops to fish!  But, we made it!  No close calls or anything! Whew!

I stayed in the house and kicked it with Vader while the boys gut the fish.  I don't really like to see all of that happening, especially if they are still alive :(

Pat tried to convince me that they don't feel pain the same way humans do, but that still doesn't make me feel any better!  :(

RIP Fishies!
