Our days were starting to feel a little mundane lately. She started to lose interest in the water table and I could tell she was getting bored trapped inside too. I try to cycle out toys, but I think we’re at the junction of most of these things are too baby, too boring, or too involved when I have to work. I learned my lesson with letting her color when my back was turned lol.
I found some old balloons from Waylin’s 1st birthday party laying around and thought…Hmm. 🎈

Boy…do I now appreciate my mum when we should fill up water balloons back in the day. It was truly a labor of love…that’s for sure! ❤ I did these one by one with the hose and I felt like I developed arthritis in my back and neck LOL. Nowadays they have fancy straw attachments that can fill up like 20 balloons at the same time! I need to buy one of those! 🤣
She loved the balloons and the fact that it matched her dress! We probably should have put our swimsuits on, but this was a last minute idea I had to cure her boredom. I think getting wet in our clothes was more fun anyway!
This picture accurately screams joy and fear at the same time! 🤣 I think we can all feel that feeling of when you’re absolutely about to get pegged by a water balloon! 💦 Those balloons were actually pretty tough so we spent a lot of our time puncturing them with our nails over our heads!
I didn’t care that my mascara had run or what I was wearing…we just had a good ole fashion water balloon fight together. We couldn’t convince Ben to come outside and play with us. Maybe he can join in for our next battle! ⚔
