Boh's Pizza, What kind of toppings can we get up on you tonight?"
Ben's older brother makes me laugh ALL the time! He works at a pizza chain, so occasionally Ben will pick up a pie from his brother when he's working. Recently, Ben ordered a pizza and drove to go pick it up. It wasn't quite ready yet, so Ben waited inside. While he was waiting, the phone rang for another order. His brother picked up the phone and said, "What kind of toppings can I get up on you tonight?" LOL...We have now adopted this saying into our lives for several things! :)
So, my homemade rolls from my Thanksgiving post were such a hit, that we decided to try to make a pizza out of the same dough! It wasn't the worst idea we ever had, but we had no idea how it would turn out, since we had no recipe to really follow.
We drove to town to grab some lunch and groceries (story of my fucking LIFE!). We decided that we would do a sausage, mushroom, and peppers pizza. So, we grabbed all the ingredients at Meijer, and headed home.
We were obsessed with it! We even sang a highly off-key version of the Olympics opener when we put our pizza into the oven! BA-BA-BA-BA-BUM-BA!
For our first time, I think it turned out pretty good! It didn't taste like typical homemade pizza with store-bought dough. I brought a slice to work with me today for lunch, and I asked a coworker of mine to guess where my pizza was from. She suggested Papa Johns. I will take it! :)
Like I said, we didn't have any instructions or recipe to follow. No clue as to how long to cook it or at what temperature either! We just kinda winged it! HERE YE! HERE YE! Here comes critical ass Stevie: I think we definitely needed to add sugar/seasoning to the sauce. We thought about it, but decided to just keep it plain for our first time. I also think we need to alter the dough recipe. It was THICK! But, I mean, that's what you get when you use dough meant for homemade rolls! #wedobigthings I also think we should have chopped the peppers up into smaller pieces too. And added more seasoning/parmesan to the crust!
Now I'm being too critical, because really, this was a very good homemade pizza for our first time. We didn't even have all of the proper materials to make the pizza either! I "rolled" out the dough by using a glass cup!
The funny thing is, Ben and I talk about opening a pizza shop all the time! We've even named our make-believe pizza store: Boh's Pizza! Sounds good, right? We thought so! We were originally looking to make a thin crust pizza, but the dough decided it wanted to be a fat bitch! I should have saved a portion of the dough to make breadsticks out of it, because those would have been perfect!
Ben wants to try again, so maybe we will find our groove! :)
